Our council is going through an exciting time of change. We have developed a ‘One Team’ approach to working and this relies on each and every person working collaboratively to deliver shared goals. To be a positive influence on this environment, you’ll need to be able to support others and be a genuine team player.
What the council is really looking for is someone with a true customer focus, an understanding of what great customer service involves and a commitment to delivering outstanding results.
Reporting to the Team Leader for Responsive Repairs, you will be part of a small team of maintenance Surveyors assisting in the developing innovations in the delivery of responsive repairs and voids to the council’s c10,000 stock.
Working closely with our long-term partnering contractors - Mears - to maximise customer satisfaction and achieve value for money. Working with colleagues and contractors to ensure delivery of a first class responsive repairs service and guarantee all voids meet the quality standards required. You will need to have good working knowledge of building construction, The Building Regulations and Health & Safety legislation. You will need excellent communication and problem-solving skills and be comfortable in conversing with a range of stakeholders.
As one of our Surveyors, you’ll join a forward-thinking, award winning team within the council that puts their customers first. We know that in order to provide the best for our residents, businesses and visitors, we need to do the same for our people. We have set out to make our workplaces vibrant and happy places to be, places where we feel safe, content and valued. From a generous annual leave entitlement, to flexible working and opportunities to buy and sell leave, our benefits package provides a great work life balance.
If you are interested in working in an ambitious authority and helping to shape our housing stock, we want to hear from you.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.
For an informal discussion please contact John Beare (Team Leader) on 01707 357872.
Closing Date for applications is 5 August 2020.
Assessment will be held on 10 August and interviews on 13 August 2020.
