Are you enthusiastic with a strong work ethic? We are looking for a proactive and energetic person who enjoys talking to and interacting with people to join our team.
You will be responsible for welcoming and assisting members of the public, ensuring the museum is clean and shop is fully stocked. About the museum Hastings Museum & Art Gallery was established in 1890 and has always offered local people and visitors to the town the opportunity to explore its varied collections of local history, natural sciences, fine and decorative arts, and world cultures. Today, the museum is a socially engaged organisation which works in partnership with local people to advocate for social justice and human rights as well as trying to make sense of contemporary issues.
Over the last decade Hastings has undergone an economic and cultural renaissance. The area’s reputation as cultural centre continues to strengthen with flagship projects such as the RIBA award-wining Pier, Jerwood Gallery and iconic De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill stimulating new cultural economic activity. The town is full of life with plenty of things to do in the evening and at weekends, from the arcades on the sea to bars and cafes in the town centre sitting alongside a full calendar of festivals, arts and cultural events. Hastings is easily accessible by road, rail and bus – with good transport links to London and along the South Coast to places like Brighton.
