FLEET SERVICES MANAGER – ENVIRONMENT AND HOUSING SERVICES
GRADE G - £30,756 - £34,104
The council is seeking to appoint an experienced individual to lead on all matters relating to management and operation of the council’s vehicle fleet, plant and equipment and inhouse work shop facilities. Reporting to the Head of Service you’ll be the principal named CPC holder on the council’s vehicle operator’s licence. You’ll ensure that all requirements needed to maintain the vehicle operator’s licence are met and that the council complies with all related statutory duties and responsibilities. You’ll also manage the operation of the fleet services workshop and associated maintenance and repair regimes including the effective operation of taxi vehicle inspection services.
Using your knowledge and excellent communication and interpersonal skills you’ll direct, motivate and develop the fleet services team and work across operational boundaries to support the delivery of key frontline services. You’ll also advise on the procurement of a diverse range of municipal plant and vehicles, maintain associated asset registers and be experienced in managing capital and revenue budgets. You’ll oversee health and safety management systems relevant to Fleet Services and ensure the workshop environment meets statutory requirements regarding health and safety. You’ll also liaise with officers and managers in all operational services to ensure their vehicle and plant requirements are met and administer all vehicle accident and insurance claims.
