Headteacher: Mr G Y Bourgade

Birkdale High School is a popular and successful all-boys 11-16 comprehensive Academy with an excellent reputation, outstanding pastoral care and consistently above national average academic results.
The school has seen its numbers rise over the last few years and is now oversubscribed.
At Birkdale we aim to be leaders in the education of boys and this starts with a clear focus on developing effective teaching pedagogy and not engaging in educational fads or gimmicks. Our development is driven by a focus on cognitive science and educational research and our quality assurance of teaching is developmental rather than judgemental.
The Governors are seeking to appoint a dynamic and committed person to join our SEND department, who specialises in supporting pupils with ADHD and sensory processing difficulties. This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful and inclusive school and make a genuine and significant difference to the lives of children. The successful candidate will work within the SEND department supporting individuals in class or in our Learning Hub. The post will also involve working on a 1 to 1 basis supporting a child who has ADHD and sensory needs for much of the school day.
The successful candidate is required to start in September 2020. The appointment is temporary until the end of the Autumn term, in the first instance, but could lead to a permanent position.
Further details and an application form can be downloaded from www.birkdalehigh.co.uk or obtained from Ms Karen Anslow at the school. Completed application forms should be emailed to email@example.com by 12.00pm on Tuesday 4 August 2020.
Interviews for shortlisted candidates will take place on Friday 7 August 2020.
Birkdale High School safeguards children and actively promotes their welfare. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All posts are subject to the acquisition of an enhanced DBS certificate with barred list information through the Disclosure and Barring Service and further checks as required. All teaching positions will also be subject to a prohibition order check.
