Your New Role
You will deal with planning applications submitted under current planning legislation, negotiating with applicants, advising third parties about the proposal and providing advice to members. You will give advice on how proposals could be amended to gain support and prepare evidence and statements for planning appeals. You will devise, manage and practice arrangements for effective internal engagement with licencing, environmental health, contaminated land and many more. You will assist with enquiries and general correspondence.
What you’ll need to succeed
You should have a relevant planning qualification and be a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute. You should be developing your planning career with demonstrable ability to act as a catalyst for change and to take forward new ideas. You should have experience dealing with a range of planning applications, enforcement cases and legal agreements. You will have knowledge of current planning legislation and procedures, as well as good communication and interpersonal skills. Ideally, you will also have a good understanding of local government and the political environment.
