Lincolnshire County Council/Legal Services Lincolnshire are looking for a highways and planning lawyer to join our team to deal with an exciting and varied range of local authority work. The highways and planning Team provides advice to the County Council, District Councils and to other external public bodies who engage our services. Our work includes providing planning advice (including attending Planning Committees to advise members) drafting planning notices and agreements, providing advice on rights of way and highway matters including drafting relevant documents. In addition we attend and provide advocacy at Inquiries and in the Magistrates court as required.
Candidates will need to have a background in highways and planning law and ideally have some knowledge of local government as a client (although this is not essential) and will need to demonstrate good communication and I.T skills, an ability to work as part of a team and the ability to prioritise and work confidently and flexibly under pressure to deliver a high quality service to clients.
The highways and planning team are an integral part of Legal Services Lincolnshire and Lincolnshire County Council and have been instrumental in obtaining Compulsory Purchase and Side Roads Orders for several large highways schemes within the County which included the Lincoln Eastern Bypass . They have also successfully represented clients at Inquiry for planning appeals and provided advice and guidance on the implementation of Local Plans throughout Lincolnshire.
