The job includes working on some weekends on a rota paid 0.5 on Saturday for hours worked and 1 hour enhanced for each hour worked on Sunday, plus day off in week
We are looking for an experienced Cook for our Orient Street Short Breaks unit which supports children, young people and adults with learning disabilities and autism (and associated physical disabilities).
You will deliver a quality of food preparation and delivery to our clients in line with our care principles of 'wellness, happiness, and kindness', from within our Kitchen.
You must be experienced and be able to produce freshly prepared ‘Home Cooked’ Recipes. A relevant qualification i.e. NVQ Level 1/2, City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 is desirable, however, if you do not hold any of these we will provide a tailored training package to further develop your skills.
As Cook you will assist in ordering ingredients, planning and cooking a varied and nutritious diet within provided budgets, whilst taking into account dietary and cultural needs of our children, young people and adults. You will be able to effectively communicate with our care team service users, and visitors and maintain the units’ high food hygiene and food safety rating; ensuring all controls, recording and monitoring required by HACCP, are carried out effectively.
This is an opportunity for someone to take responsibility for a leading role in managing the kitchen, stocks, health and safety and to create healthy and exciting menus for our residents.

Please note that this is a part time role and the post holder will be required to work weekday afternoons-typically 2.30-6.30pm Monday - Thursday and 12.30-6.30pm on a Friday.
