About the role
We provide high quality, responsive palliative care and bereavement support across Hastings and Rother and work collaboratively with others to improve end of life care for all.
Open to highly experienced Social Work, Counselling, Spiritual Support, Clinical Psychology or other psychosocial professions
An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the Psychosocial Team at St Michael’s Hospice, to provide dynamic leadership to the Social Work, Spiritual Support, Bereavement and Carer services and to champion and evolve the breadth of our psychosocial service provision.
Working in close partnership with the Clinical Directors, the Psychosocial Lead will have a key role in the delivery of our clinical strategy. You will lead the development and implementation of ambitious plans to raise the profile and impact of our psychosocial support provision and ensure the Hospice’s Integrated Clinical Team are best supporting the holistic needs of the patients, families and carers across all settings. This includes user involvement and engagement and carer workstreams.
We are seeking a specialist psychosocial professional with considerable experience working in an interdisciplinary palliative care setting or exceptional transferable skills and experience. You will be committed to holistic palliative care provision; with a sound understanding of person-centred care underpinned by principles of choice, empowerment and dignity. You will have proven clinical expertise in your specialism, strong experience of service development and a collaborative leadership style.
We can offer you the opportunity to be part of a forward-looking, agile clinical leadership team, committed to working in a collaborative and integrated way with our service users and community at the heart of all we do.
At St Michael’s Hospice we offer a friendly, team orientated work environment – a good pension scheme with the option to continue any existing NHS pension scheme membership, a wellbeing and resilience programme, discounted gym membership, 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays, subsidised employee meals, supportive supervision and a proactive Education Department to support with development.
