Employer Engagement Officer
This is an exciting time to join Islington Council as we commit to improving outcomes for vulnerable young people. As part of the response to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on local communities we are creating a new employment and skills programme targeted at 18-25 year olds who are not in education, employment or training. The programme will work particularly with young people facing additional barriers to employment, such as care leavers and those with experience of the youth justice system, as well as young people known to key youth and community partners.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a new team in delivering this wraparound programme of support that combines EET advice and guidance, paid work experiences, bespoke training and skills opportunities including English and Maths tuition, and therapeutic support.
In this post you will establish, grow and facilitate outcome-driven, effective partnerships with employers and training providers, to develop innovative pathways into key industry sectors through programmes of activity that provide varied and meaningful experiences of work. You will work alongside a highly skilled and motivated workforce, and a leadership team with ambition to improve the lives of our vulnerable young people and commitment to flexible, creative approaches to helping them.
We are looking for someone experienced in account management of a range of businesses, with ability to build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders that increase new employment and world of work opportunities. You will be able to demonstrate flexibility and openness to change, whilst taking a dynamic and proactive attitude to working with local employers.
