The post is critical to the successful delivery of the Council’s Homelessness Strategy.
The post plays a key strategic role in shaping and delivering the procurement of a full range of housing options for those who are homeless and who are seeking help from the Council.
The post will ensure that any directly managed provision meets all the necessary requirements.
The post will ensure the delivery of an effective housing management service to support residents to move on to more stable housing.
Management of three teams; Procurement, Housing Management and Income Recovery.
Procurement of enough accommodation to meet the Council’s requirements; working with diverse providers and contractual arrangements.
Effective financial management to maximising income recovery via robust income and debt management systems and procedures.
The post requires an excellent understanding of the housing market to ensure that there is enough supply of accommodation to meet to meet a wide range of housing needs.
The post requires knowledge of procurement processes and contract management.
The post requires experience of financial management.
The post requires excellent people management skills; managing diverse teams covering a broad range of procurement and housing management duties.
The post requires strategic working with colleagues across the council.
