Consultant in Public Health
Salary: up to £84,000 per annum for an exceptional candidate
This is an exciting opportunity to join Merton Council and its friendly and dynamic public health team. The post offers a wide experience in Public Health including system leadership, commissioning a range of public health services, providing commissioning support to the NHS, and health protection, including Covid-19 outbreak control and recovery. The portfolio currently covers adults and older people as well as health intelligence and ‘Health in All Policies’ but there will be some flexibility. You will lead on Covid-19 outbreak surveillance, care home support and working with the community on mitigating inequalities. Merton Council has declared a climate emergency and we are committed to a green recovery that you will actively support. You will also need to work closely with the CCG and Adult Social Care on our Merton Health and Care Together integration programme and support the Health and Wellbeing Board’s ambition to transform the deprived East of the borough including the development of an innovative health and community facility.
We are looking for a resourceful, competent and hands-on consultant with a track- record of independent problem solving and delivery. You need to demonstrate highly developed communication skills (written and verbal), a good grasp of analytics and a genuine ethos of team and partnership working. We will consider exceptional applications from trainees who are ready for their first consultant post.
Interviews will take place in the afternoon of 22nd July 2020.
