This post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018.

The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision.  Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.

About the role

Little Common School is an outstanding primary on the outskirts of Bexhill. Our large, well-resourced school is friendly and supportive and full of children who love to learn.  We have an experienced staff team who enjoy sharing skills and providing an excellent education for pupils.

We are looking for resilient, enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistants at Level 3 who are passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential.

The ideal candidate will be a team player who is able to be flexible whether working in class or with groups.  They will be reliable, caring and dedicated to their role, being able to remain positive under challenging circumstances.  A part of the role will include a focus on reading and phonics so the ideal candidate will have experience in this area. Our school follows Read, Write, Inc Phonics and knowledge of the programme is desirable but not essential, as training will be given.

As part of the role you will be expected to be a First Aider and training will be provided.

Due to current restrictions, interviews will be virtual via Zoom and there is no opportunity for tours of the school.  Therefore, in advance of applying for the role, we would like you to come for a brief socially distant chat with our Head Teacher outside so you can find out more about us. Please contact us to arrange a time for either Wednesday 1 July or Thursday 2 July in the afternoon.

Closing date for applications is 9am on Monday 6 July 2020

Interviews via Zoom are being held on the afternoon of Wednesday 8 July 2020.
