About the role

Fletching Church of England Primary School is one of East Sussex’s best kept secrets! We are situated in a beautiful location, close to Sheffield Park, with delightful children and supportive staff.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for someone to join our fabulous Fletching family. We are looking for someone to lead our Honeybees Breakfast Club,  to work alongside a specific child and as a general Teaching Assistant and an MDSA . The hours are from 7.20am – 1.15pm Monday-Friday in term time. It’s fast-paced and varied, but we will help you to get the support you need to succeed.

The successful candidate will need to :

  • have great organisational and communication skills;
  • the ability to think on their feet;
  • have experience of supporting children in a classroom environment;
  • have knowledge and understanding of child development;
  • be effective at establishing good relationships with pupils, staff and parents;
  • have good maths and English skills;
  • have high expectations of themselves and pupils;
  • embrace the Christian ethos of the school;
  • promote a positive image of the school through their work and attitude.

The main areas of responsibility are:

  • Planning and providing a range of high quality activities that offer appropriate stimulation and support to the children;
  • Overseeing the provision of breakfast and refreshments;
  • Ensuring that the Honeybees Breakfast Clus is a safe environment, standards of hygiene are high and all safety procedures and policies are adhered to; 
  • Administering first aid as appropriate;
  • Supporting the class teacher for five mornings each week as a general teaching assistant, as well as working with a specific child;
  • Supervising and taking care of the children during the lunch time period in all areas, inside and outside of the school.

This is a busy and varied role, but we will help you to get the support you need to succeed!

If you have previous relevant experience, excellent communication skills and are passionate about starting the day with a smile, then we want to hear from you!
