Fletching Church of England Primary School is one of East Sussex’s best kept secrets! We are situated in a beautiful location close to Sheffield Park with delightful children and supportive staff. We are working in close partnership with Chailey St Peter’s Primary School with a view to federation in the near future.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for someone to join our fabulous Fletching family,  We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic individual who has the skills and abilities to work within our lovely school to maintain and improve the site for the benefit and safety of all staff, pupils and visitors. This is an exciting opportunity for someone wishing to be part of a dedicated, friendly and supportive team. We are looking for someone with a happy, positive disposition, a calm and pleasant manner, and a can-do attitude!

This is a part time vacancy for 8 hours per week. The preferred timings each day (Monday to Friday) are 1 hour per day to be finished by 8.30am, plus 3 hours after 3.30pm (either on 1 day or split over 2 days), but subject to change in school holiday periods. The job is permanent with an expectation that most annual leave will be taken during the school holidays. Please note that as the position is a part-time role, the salary will be pro-rata. Please clearly state in your application when you would be able to start.

The successful applicant will ideally;

  • Be trustworthy, reliable and punctual.
  • Have the ability to undertake all the physical aspects of the job.
  • Have experience working in a premises/facilities environment, or have caretaking experience in a school or similar environment.
  • Have the ability to undertake responsibility of general grounds maintenance.
  • Be capable of working with autonomy, but within agreed boundaries.
  • Have the ability to maintain positive relationships with children and adults.
  • Possess good organisational skills and commit to high standards.
  • Have the ability to work as part of a team and be able to respond to guidance, and respond calmly to emergencies.
