Project Manager VRU Parental Support Project

This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative parental support pilot project funded by London’s Violence Reduction Unit (VRU). Working across the London boroughs of Islington and Camden the project will deliver community based peer-to-peer support for parents and carers in the context of a public health approach to violence reduction. The pilot is a multi-level prevention programme that includes both a wider universal offer of programmes for parents and families, and a more targeted approach to families, where a need for a greater intensity of programme has been identified.
The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating the delivery of the Parental Support Project taking responsibility for all aspects of delivery including overseeing co-location and matrix management of 4 project staff: 2 Family Practitioners and 2 TYS Transition Workers, and for ensuring the required outcomes and outputs are achieved.
The successful candidate will need to have: Significant experience of delivering quality services working with children, young people and families, and of supporting and building resilience among parents who are concerned about their children
Ability to coordinate delivery of a variety of interventions including direct work with families, transition to secondary school project and training and capacity building for parents.
Ability to build peer support networks that enable parents to access information and good practice, share their concerns and support each other
The ability to manage risk and vulnerability working effectively with other professionals in order to safeguard children.
