The Regeneration Directorate of Portsmouth City Council manages and maintains a multi-million pound property portfolio. We have a varied portfolio of property assets including Port Solent (a leisure, retail and residential marina complex), industrial sites, retail units, offices, Portsmouth International Port as well as more specialist properties like hotels, supermarkets, golf courses, leisure properties and an agricultural portfolio.
The total asset value is in the region £1billion and the commercial assets generate a net income of over £10 million per annum.
In Property & Investment, our purpose is to manage the non-residential assets cost-effectively and uphold quality relationships with our tenants. All our work is geared towards achieving our purpose.
Your New Role
In this role you will be responsible for evaluating repair requests and advising on appropriate action. You will assist in the assessment of access rights across Housing Revenue Account land and you will meet with customers and other stakeholders regarding questions. You will negotiate prescriptive rights easements and other rights of way, as well as assisting in the management of works on new parking sites. You will be expected to work sensitively with Councillors and area management, and you will support the team in bringing in revenue and managing accounts.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will need to have a good knowledge of Maths and English, along with two years general property experience. You will be able to interpret hard copy maps and industry standard electronic systems. Ideally you will have knowledge of rent management systems such as Northgate, but experience using Excel and Word is essential. You will have the ability to communicate basic property information effectively to stakeholders and others outside of the organisation.
