Counter-Fraud Assistant (Intelligence Officer)
Based in Stevenage with travel across Hertfordshire
Salary: £20,344 to £24,799 pa pro rata for 18 Months Full time Hours, Fixed Term/Secondment Contract October 2020 to March 2022 (funded position)
The Hertfordshire Shared Anti-Fraud Service (SAFS) provides an award winning counter fraud service to our partner organisations across Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire. Based at our Stevenage office we have a vacancy for someone willing to work in a high pressure environment to demanding targets and delivering excellent outcomes. Working as part of the Intelligence Team within the Shared Anti-Fraud Service you must be able to develop professional relationships, have excellent IT skills, be prepared to learn and develop as well as undertake nationally accredited training. Although not essential experience of criminal or enforcement investigations in the UK is desirable. We are particularly interested in applicants who have a good working knowledge of the Local Government Finance Act and Council Tax legislation. This post is part of a career scheme and although not essential experience of criminal or enforcement investigations in the UK is desirable.
This role is funded for 18 months with a special focus on supporting the use of data, data-analytics, data-matching and data-mining on a number of key projects within the Service over the next two years. Anyone applying should have strong data skills, be able to learn about systems & processes quickly and be able to adapt & develop existing processes to improve their ability to prevent and detect fraud.
