Westminster is dynamic, multicultural and unique. At the City Council, we support the combination of tourism, commerce and business that makes the area so special, but we always put our residents first. Housing provision is one of our most important responsibilities in creating a ‘City for All’. We oversee the management, repair and maintenance of a portfolio of some 22,000 homes, ranging from purpose-built blocks to Grade 2 listed residential buildings.
As a Repairs Quality Inspector, you will help to ensure our residents have safe and comfortable homes to live in. From the condition of communal areas to the installation of smoke detectors in individual dwellings, you will inspect and record completed works, keeping track of contractor performance and customer satisfaction. This means interacting with customers as well as making clear diagnoses of building defects and submitting thorough reports. It’s a fast-paced and challenging role, where you will often be on the move, managing many different priorities.
With a qualification in an area such as building services or surveying, you’ll have hands-on experience of analysing maintenance issues in residential buildings. Strong customer interaction skills are also essential, including the ability to manage complaints. You’ll be capable of using IT to administer workflows, to log data on the go, and to produce management information and performance reports. You’ll need to be a good communicator, both in person and in writing.
As a progressive and innovative organisation, we welcome applications from candidates keen on working in an agile environment with flexible conditions.

As a progressive and innovative organisation, we welcome applications from candidates keen to work in an agile environment with flexible conditions.
