Are you as passionate about preventing homelessness as we are?

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Homeless Prevention Team for a Homeless Prevention Assistant for rough sleepers.

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual with experience of homelessness prevention or related work e.g. advice/welfare benefits. You will need to have strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with colleagues, other departments and statutory and voluntary agencies to provide an effective service for homeless people, many of whom have multiple vulnerabilities and support needs.

 

You will be able to manage a caseload and most of all you must be committed to and have a clear understanding of the needs of rough sleepers and the organisations and agencies you can work with to best support them.

The successful candidate will work alongside the Rough Sleeper Coordinator to provide additional help and support to rough sleepers with a view to helping them move away from the streets and into appropriate housing. They will be responsible for carrying out housing and support assessments, and to work closely with individuals to ensure resettlement, including tenancy support and any on-going support as appropriate to individual needs.

 

There will also be a requirement for clear and efficient record keeping in order to assist the Rough Sleeper Coordinator with necessary statistical returns.
