Planning Enforcement Triage Officer
Department: Development Management - Enforcement
Salary: Band E £33,487 to £36,543 with essential car user allowance.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to work within our Planning Enforcement Team and take the lead in helping us shape our enforcement processes.
This is a brand new role within the Council, and we are looking for a candidate who has a history of bringing clear and positive changes to their planning/enforcement work and who isn’t afraid to question and develop existing processes.
Whilst you will have a few of your own enforcement cases, your main focus will be on:
- Setting up a triage system to ensure complaints are prioritised in accordance with our Enforcement plan
- Providing specialist planning advice, particularly for larger complex cases which have a considerable impact on the Green Belt.
- Liaising with key stakeholders to strengthen working relationships and co coordinate a joint approach to sites
- Taking the lead on utilising information technology to support the team to promote a smarter more effective and innovative Enforcement service
You will work across all departments of the Council, work with Members, Parish and Town Councils and the public representing the planning enforcement team. You will deal with a variety of issues to contribute to the delivery of the planning service.
We are looking for someone who has experience in planning/enforcement who is looking to develop their career and make a difference. In particular we would welcome candidates who have strong evidence of proactive work in the planning enforcement environment. A successful candidate would also have a full driving licence with a vehicle available for work purposes.
