Care Officer Vacancy

Owlswick School and Home, nr Lewes East Sussex

Owlswick School and Home provides residential care and education to young people who have SEMH. We are situated near Lewes in East Sussex. Our experienced staff are proud to provide high quality care and education in order for young people to achieve their aspirations with the aim of becoming resilient, confident and independent young adults. Staff support and work with young people who can display challenging behaviour due to their adverse childhood experiences.

We are looking to recruit to a Care Officer post.

This is a full time post with the opportunity to join our care team. You will work to a shift pattern that covers days, evenings, sleep-ins and weekends supporting young people within their daily routine.

The successful applicant will need to have at least one year’s experience of working in a residential care setting or in an equivalent area, supporting young people with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will act as a key-worker to at least one young person. Preferably the post holder will have a QCF Level 3 qualification that is relevant to the post and/or be willing to achieve this. Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications and will be circa £19 000 plus additional payments for overtime and sleep-ins.

Please note that Owlswick is committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all our young people and expect our staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check and other recruitment checks prior to commencing the post.
