We have an exciting new opportunity to join Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council as our Digital Content Editor working within the Corporate Communications team.

Central to this new role is planning and managing the content development for a brand new soon to be launched website, which will underpin a fundamental shift in our internal processes and how we interact with residents, businesses and visitors to the borough.

As an experienced Digital/Web Content Editor you will play a leading role delivering our digital strategy, making it simpler and faster for people to access information or services via online channels.

You will of course be an excellent communicator and able to edit sometimes complex content in a way that makes it more accessible to our customers. Alongside this you will have also worked extensively with at least one content management system and demonstrated a flair for creating high quality, engaging content, combining an understanding of using systems effectively, creatively, and with an attention to detail.

The post-holder will take the lead in managing all website content and will act as site editor. You will plan and execute the transition to our new website working collaboratively with colleagues across the Council, building positive working relationships with senior managers and different teams but always with the goal of ensuring that our content meets our customers’ needs.

As a first and main point of contact for many customers, making our online services fully accessible is vital to the Council’s future ways of working underpinned by our Digital Strategy. You will also work closely with the rest of the Communications team on developing creative digital campaigns that deliver impact and drive change through all our channels.
