Leading the way forward for Children’s Services in North Somerset
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Team Manager in our Referral and Assessment Team in Weston-super-Mare.
The Referral and Assessment Team is an established team of front-line social workers to support vulnerable children and young people who are referred into the service and responds to all urgent referrals that require immediate safeguarding, triaging all referrals, working with families and directing them to the appropriate service and undertaking s47 Chid Protection investigations. This requires workers to be flexible and able to respond to quickly changing circumstances as well as able to develop good working partnerships with our colleagues in Health, Education and the Police. As an Authority we are committed to using a Signs of Safety approach to establish safety plans that are meaningful and effective.
We are looking for a deputy team manager who is interested in putting children at the centre of our work and ensure the child’s voice is heard. You will be social work qualified, experienced, enthusiastic, ambitious and knowledgeable and be at the heart of delivering Children’s Services in North Somerset.
Your role would be to hold a reduced caseload with some complex cases, to work alongside the social workers within the team, cover for the team leader and to supervise a small number of staff. You would also have an opportunity to be involved in some development work on behalf of the team. You will require a social work qualification and experience in social work with complex cases including Safeguarding.
