Environmental Enforcement Officer
37 hours per week, Permanent
We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic person to join our team of Enforcement Officers and to help us fight back against offenders committing Environmental Crimes.
As an authorised officer of the Council, you will investigate offences and enforce against a range of Environmental and Anti-Social Behaviour legislation, under the direction of a Senior Compliance Officer.
The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and an enquiring mind, to be able to identify and process evidence that may lead to successful prosecutions relating to crimes such as fly-tipping, littering, dog fouling and breaches of Public Space Protection Orders, etc.
You must be able to travel around the district to investigate complaints and you may on occasions have to transport stray or abandoned dogs. Applicants must also be able to deal with confrontational situations and to remain calm but assertive when issuing Fixed Penalty Notices to offenders or fines including to owners of stray dogs.
