 Woodlands Governing Body wish to appoint a Full Time, Early Years Lead Teacher, to join and lead our outstanding EYFS team from 1 September 2020. The role will be permanent and will include a TLR payment.

The successful candidate will be an experienced good/outstanding classroom practitioner within Early Years, who may already have some leadership experience within their setting or someone who is ready to take the next step in their career.  They will be someone who is highly driven and motivated, enthusiastic and can work flexibly and creatively.  They will be passionate about teaching and highly motivated to ensure the very best possible outcomes for the children in their care and to develop themselves.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, they will participate in the strategic leadership and management of the school and will be responsible for the quality of teaching and learning across the EYFS phase.  They will oversee a team of people within the phase and be responsible for performance appraisal and standards across the board. A large part of the Phase Leader role will include coaching and mentoring staff within the phase to ensure that teaching and learning is at least good or outstanding.

The post will be a class-based role with non-contact time provided to allow leadership responsibilities to be fulfilled, in addition to PPA.

Woodlands Primary School is a 2.5 form entry setting (1.5 nursery and 2.5 reception classes) with keen and lovely children, supportive parents, strong Governance and a positive staff culture.

As it won’t be possible to observe a teacher in their own setting or at Woodlands, each candidate may be required to complete a task, further information will follow after shortlisting. The interviews may take place virtually, more details will be provided nearer the time.

Woodlands Primary School places the highest priority on the safeguarding of children and all applicants will follow a stringent vetting and induction process. As this post involves contact with, and access to children, it will therefore be subject to an enhanced DBS check. Any offer of employment will be conditional upon the outcome of this check.
