A great opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker to join one of Hounslow’s
Safeguarding and Support Teams. As a Social Worker you will be the lead
professional for children or young people are in in needs of support, subject of child
protection plans, or in the care of the Local Authority.
Our Safeguarding and Support Teams work intensively with children and young
people in need of help or protection. The teams work creatively with families to
support children to thrive in their parents’ care or, where this isn’t safe, to support
children to be raised by other family members, foster carers or adopters

What we are looking for:
You will be an experienced qualified Social Worker registered with Social
Work England. Newly qualified social workers will not be considered.
You will have substantial experience working with children, young people and
their families and a proven commitment to achieving the best outcomes for
You will have an enthusiasm and passion for safeguarding children and young
people and an ability to deliver high-quality assessments and interventions.
You will have first class communication and organisation skills.
This post is considered by the authority to be a customer-facing position; as such
it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for
public sector workers. The council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of
the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken
English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The
