About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational temporary Teacher to start 1 September 2020 to cover a period of maternity leave. It is envisaged that this temporary contract will run until Friday 23 October 2020.
King's Academy Ringmer is a rural comprehensive with an ethos of "In Pursuit of Excellence". We have a strong reputation for our inclusion and pastoral care and a rapidly improving trend of results in terms of student attainment and progress. This year we are above national on P8 and we are forecasting a further improvement this year.
The Academy works in conjunction with King's Group and the King's College schools abroad. We anticipate exciting developments ahead working together with students, parents/carers and the wider community to build upon our strengths and make this an outstanding school.
The Science Department has enjoyed GCSE outcomes well above National average over the last two years in both the combined and separate science pathways. When Ofsted visited in May 2019 and judged the school to be Good, here is what the inspectors said about science:
'Typically, in mathematics and science, pupils are confident learners and they are able to ask reflective questions that lead to interesting mathematical and scientific discussions'.
'In English, science and history, teachers’ precise feedback, in accordance with the school’s policy, helps students to improve their work over time'.
'Students are provided with challenging targets to ensure that their aspirations are high. For example, in science, lessons are planned well to engage students and ensure that they are challenged to achieve the highest grades. This was seen in Year 10 where students were challenged through working on electrolysis and were confident to explain their ideas'.
'In science, students wrestle with harder concepts that deepen their understanding'.

- A chance to be at the forefront of educational development
- An Academy with a postive ethos, motivated students and focus upon learning
