We care about the wellbeing of our residents. And our dedicated Mental Health Team helps us to protect some of our most vulnerable residents. We work with health colleagues to assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment to help people live as independently and fully as possible.
Our Approved Mental Health Professional Lead, who is based in our Community Mental Health Team, will offer support and expert guidance to AMHP colleagues whenever necessary. The post holder will lead in the effective management and co-ordination of AMHP assessments as well as providing professional leadership and development for the AMHP role through mentoring and coaching.

You will be supported to carry out the following duties, responsibilities and training…
- Provide a professional lead and supervision to AMHPs within the CMHT Team, undertaking Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Best Interest assessments for Bracknell Forest Council.
- To lead in managing the AMHP rota in order to provide the AMHP service in the context of statutory provision across Bracknell Forest Council.
- To manage as care coordinator a restricted caseload of service users with complex and long-term mental health problems using current care management procedures, CPA and risk assessment/ management and safety plans.
- To participate in and make use of clinical and management supervision, and to be responsible for their own professional development.
- To act as designated safeguarding manager to support colleagues in the assessment of referrals made to safeguard adults.
- To have responsibility for the management of safeguarding referrals, including allocating investigations and completing risk assessments, chairing meetings (where necessary), and ensuring that action plans are effective in keeping people safe.
