This post is based in Housing Solutions offering support to vulnerable clients living in Temporary Accommodation, assisting them to maintain their tenancies, offering resettlement support to clients moving into permanent (private or social housing).
Due to the nature of the client group, you will need to have a flexible attitude to your work and excellent organisation skills. You will also be required to work unsupervised and organise your own caseload so decision making and problem solving skills as well as experience of both are also key.
The successful applicant will have significant experience of support work within a housing setting. Experience of working with vulnerable clients is essential as well as the ability to advocate and negotiate on a client’s behalf.
You will be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of housing and welfare benefits legislation as well as having the ability to use this knowledge to achieve best outcomes for your clients.
In addition, you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to amend your approach depending on your audience in order to achieve best results for clients and the service.
As this team’s client group is based across London and further afield, your own transport is a significant advantage.
This post requires competence of IT packages such as Word and Excel as well as internal data systems.
The successful applicant will have 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English at C or above or equivalent work experience.
