About the role

Are you a front-line Manager who is ready to join a high-performing and innovative Children’s Services Department?

We’re looking for a creative and professionally curious Practice Manager to join our Children’s Disability Service Family Support and Looked After Children Team based at Sorrel Drive, Eastbourne.

The Children's Disability Service Family Support and Looked After (FST/LAC) team supports children with severe learning disabilities and complex health needs which includes safeguarding referrals, family support referrals and ESCC social care personal budgets all at Level 4 of the Continuum of Need.  This team is co-located in Eastbourne with The Children's Disability Duty and Assessment Team. 

The two teams work closely with the CDS Early Intervention Service; Positive Behaviour Support Service; SIBS Service; Specialist Intervention Service; Special Schools Liaison, Spectrum Service, SPOA, Early Help Services and the ISEND assessment and planning teams alongside ISEND provider services. 

These support services enable timely and effective targeted interventions to improve outcomes for disabled children and young people and their families.

As a Senior Social Worker or current front-line manager, you will already have a strong social work leadership role in your current role with extensive experience in undertaking complex work and sharing your learning and experience with others as well as experiencing of supervising staff.

Motivated to improve outcomes for children

We are looking for highly motivated social work professionals who understand how to improve outcomes for children and have a proven track record in statutory children’s services. You will be a Senior Social Worker ready to take your first step into management or an experienced manager with strong management and leadership skills.

Your practice must be evidence-based, and you must be up-to-date on current theories and research. You will receive individualised support through a range of training and development opportunities to enable you to succeed in this role and to develop your career.
