About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven manager who is comfortable with leading through change and is motivated by public service ethics and achieving positive outcomes for customers.

Collecting £280m of council tax and business rates and administering £120m of Housing benefits plus an additional £31m in discretionary awards Brighton & Hove Revenues & Benefits service is one of the largest in the south East. 

You will be joining a management team of seven in taking collective responsibility for the delivery and development of the service with specific line management responsibility for several teams.  The post requires a full range of managerial skills and an ability to work in a fast paced and constantly changing environment. 

Direct or analogous experience of working in a Revenues and Benefits / local government environment would be advantageous. The role is initially until June 2021 pending a review of the service requirements in light of the roll out of Universal Credit and COVID-19 impact.

 

*Eligibility to Apply for Secondments

Permanent employees are eligible to apply for a secondment where they have:

held their current post for at least twelve months, obtained agreement from their line manager and have a defined development need that may be met through the secondment or there is a defined organisational need that will be met via the secondment

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
