Environmental Support Assistant (Ref: 1K173)
Starting salary £18, 816.72 p.a (37 hours per week)
The Council is seeking to recruit an efficient, well organised person to join the Environmental Services team. The role aims to strengthen administrative support to the team managing BEST’s frontline services which include waste management and street cleansing. Duties include dealing with telephone enquiries; handling post and email communications; processing data; taking payments for services; information handling; maintaining accurate records; and the management of data and filing systems.
The successful individual must able to uphold the best standards of customer care when dealing with members of the public. Applicants must have a high level of literacy and numeracy, good IT and time management skills. They must be able to communicate effectively, work under pressure and have a flexible approach to work.
The hours will usually be worked between 9am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday. There is some flexibility around actual working times, but a 9am start or a 5.30pm finish will be required at times to cover absences of other staff.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential in this post.
