This role is aimed at reducing women rough sleeping in the borough or at risk of homelessness.
We are looking to recruit a female outreach worker that will work alongside our commissioned outreach provider. The role will be working with the women living on the streets, developing, creating solutions and interventions to move them away from the streets into accommodation and support. During the winter months, the successful applicant will also work alongside commissioned providers to ensure that women who want to come into emergency accommodation are founded and supported to access it. The role will also involve working with those women booked into emergency provision to find a longer time housing solution for them.
The role will involve outreach shifts with partners and stakeholders so flexible working is a must.
The successful candidate must understand the complexities of working with women and be experienced in dealing with trauma and abuse.
The candidate will be required to undertake a debarring and disclosure service check.
Having regard to the nature and context of the work, the role is restricted to women applicants only as an occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, and Part 1.
