About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent full time position in the Quality Assurance Team in Adult Social Care.

As an Area Quality Assurance Manager you will assess the quality and safety of care services in South West Surrey (Guildford and Waverley). You will need an understanding of the regulatory requirements of care services and the core part of the role is to carry out quality monitoring visits to care homes and home based care agencies. But you will also support providers and managers to improve the quality of the service that they provide by promoting and sharing best practice.

Central to this role is the ability to engage with people who use services as well as their relatives or carers. You will also be comfortable interviewing care home managers and staff as well as talking to relatives and carers.

You will have extensive experience of working, managing or quality assuring care services. Experienced and confident in multi-disciplinary settings, you will work closely with social care locality teams and the commissioning team, but also with key partners from CCGs, the Care Quality Commission and voluntary organisations.

You will have a role to play in the on-going developments in quality assurance for care settings in Surrey. We are working with key partners to implement new ways of working to be more pro-active, integrated and consistent and to have a robust system for gathering and sharing intelligence and responding to quality concerns.
