About the role
Full Address: Your Sanctuary, 15a Monument Way East, Woking, Surrey GU21 5LY. The post is based at two refuges in North West Surrey. Exact locations will be disclosed at offer stage.
Exact working hours: 20 hours per week Monday to Friday. There is some flexibility on working days and hours and you must be available for at least some hours after school and during school holidays.
Any further details: The salary is circa £11,667pa (circa £21,000 pa full time equivalent). Successful applicants will need to live within a reasonable driving distance from our offices in Woking, have a full driving licence and access to a reliable car for work purposes and be available to be on-call on a rota basis (shift allowance payable). Any offer will be subject to acceptable references and a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Your Sanctuary is a Surrey based charity which provides specialist assistance to women, men and children affected by domestic abuse. Helping to undo the harm caused to children who have been affected by domestic abuse is a priority for us.
We are looking for a part-time Children’s Play Worker to help support children who have experienced domestic abuse. Based at our refuges in North West Surrey, you will assist our specialist Children’s Worker in the delivery of the Therapeutic Children’s Service by planning and providing a routine of play activities for children of pre-school and school age. You will also help to find school and nursery places. This is a role in which you can make a real difference to children’s lives by giving them an opportunity to enjoy and learn through play whilst building their self-esteem.
You must have experience of working with children, knowledge and understanding of child development, excellent communication skills and be kind, patient and approachable.
There is some flexibility on the working days and hours and you must be available for at least some hours after school and during school holidays. We offer 25 days annual leave per annum plus Public Holidays (pro rata for part time members of staff), a contributory pension scheme and an employee assistance programme along with opportunities for training and development.
Applicants must have a full driving license and access to a reliable car and be available for occasional emergency on-call and out of hours helpline shifts on a rota basis (at additional pay).
