Your New Role

We have an exciting opportunity at Portsmouth City Council for a Transport Planner with experience in project management to join our team, working on the Council's policy and strategy to deliver the City's Air Quality Local Plan to achieve compliance with legal limits for nitrogen dioxide.

As the Technical Transport Planner, you will be responsible for supporting the provision of advice on air quality issues, contributing to the development of air quality policy and strategy, and developing and delivering solutions to varied and complex queries/issues raised. You will be involved in engaging and consulting with members, community groups and residents on how we can reduce air pollution from transport in the City.

 

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to be educated to degree level in a relevant subject or be able demonstrate equivalent professional experience. You will need to have experience of investigating and interpreting data along with the ability to write reports including articles, briefing papers, technical and Cabinet reports. You will need to demonstrate experience dealing with budget and be able to work independently and proactively. You will be successful in making decisions and able to manage competing priorities.
