Data to Insight is a national project that supports local authority children’s services departments. Our aim is to get local authorities to use data better by enabling resources that were developed for visualisation, analysis, benchmarking and forecasting to be shared between LAs. We are looking for a skilled and dynamic information analyst\manager to develop the project.
We are looking for someone to be the national lead for the project, working with regional groups to support and develop shared analysis and visualisation tools. To develop an online community and library of tools through a website and development platform. To work with the regions, the third sector and commercial providers to identify funding opportunities to support the development of new tools. To maintain and develop existing tools such as the ChAT and Children's Social Care Benchmarking tool.
A pilot project produced the very successful ChAT tool that is now used by all LAs to support their Ofsted inspections and a Children's Social Care Benchmarking tool. It also supports several tools developed by individual LAs that are now shared with all.
The role is initially funded for 12 months but working with the board the role will develop opportunities for longer term sustainable funding. It may appeal therefore to an individual already working within any LA children’s services department either as a secondment opportunity. Equally we would be pleased to consider applicants with experience from other LA departments, the third and commercial sectors.
The role will require agile working, attending meetings and events in the regions but the normal work base could be from one of several locations within the country – subject to agreement with the hiring manager who is based in Lewes in East Sussex.
