About the Post:
Local authorities in England have Families Information Services whose role is to Provide Information, Advice and Assistance. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Family Involvement and Information Officer providing targeted information to families through a range of communication channels.
A significant part of the post involves sourcing information and inputting accurate informative information into the web based Barnsley Family Service Directory alongside dealing with enquiries by phone/ email and other sources of contact from members of the public and professionals. There are limited opportunities to provide targeted information through outreach.
Families Information Services are central to the delivery of government initiatives which support families with childcare costs including free early education funding for 2, 3 and 4 year olds, as they promote, match children who qualify for this provision to available places in nurseries so knowledge of childcare would support the role.
All applicants must hold a Level 3 qualification (e.g. Advice and Guidance, Customer Services) or Level 3 in a relevant discipline and substantial customer service experience.
