The Early Years and Childcare Service in Islington is looking for staff to take on a leadership and management role in one of its council run nurseries, a key part of our  Bright Start services for under-fives and families.  The management structure for the six council run children’s centres and two early years centre sees overall responsibility for childcare and early education overseen by an executive head, supported by a head of nursery.

We are looking for  a passionate, dedicated and inspiring leader who can work in partnership with Bright Start colleagues from Children’s Services, other council departments and agencies for the following vacancy:

Head of Nursery

Full Time 35 Hours per week (All Year Round)

Soulbury: EIP, SCP 13 - 17  £50,561 - £55,585

The head of nursery is responsible for the day to day operational running of the nursery and supports the executive head in providing vision, direction and leadership to ensure high quality childcare and early education and positive outcomes for children.

We currently have a vacancy at Conewood Children's Centre which offers full time childcare and education for children from 6 months – 5 years from 8-6pm all year round. Conewood has recently transferred over to local authority control and is going through a period of reorganisation so this is an exciting opportunity to work with a newly appointed executive head to build an ethos and vision that sets the Centre on a path to excellence.

We strongly recommend that interested candidates visit the Centre. To arrange a visit or discuss the posts further please contact Tracy Smith, 0207 527 5582

Bright Start Islington is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment; all posts are subject to a satisfactory DBS checks.
