Newham is perhaps the youngest, most diverse and vibrant local authority in the UK and we are transforming how the Council works to put people at the heart of everything we do and create better homes and neighbourhoods for our residents. And this includes using our major land holding to build the most ambitious council house building programme in 40 years and focusing investment in our town centres to rebuild after the current crisis.
Over the last decade, Newham has already seen an unprecedented amount of external investment and growth in population – with c. 7,500 people joining the borough in 2019 alone.
However, despite this, Newham still has some of the poorest neighbourhoods in the country. To address this head on, we have pledged to deliver 38,000 new homes and 100,000 jobs across the borough, with a commitment to start building over 1,000 new Council homes specifically for social rent by 2022; and have the second highest housing target of any London borough.

Involving residents has always been central to the work of the Regeneration and Housing Delivery teams. The Council has pledged to put people at the heart of everything it does, and the establishment of a central Resident Involvement Team supports this commitment, as involving residents and local communities in the work of the Regeneration and Housing Delivery teams is key to successful outcomes.
About the Team
You will be working with a group of talented individuals who share a passion for innovation, and will act as the residents' Champion to build community confidence in the London Borough of Newham. The Resident Involvement team will be a central resource sitting under the Estate Regeneration Development Lead to support resident involvement across the Regeneration and Housing Delivery teams and their projects.
As a Resident Involvement Manager, you will ensure seamless service delivery by developing strong networks and working collaboratively. You will lead the co-ordination and delivery of the Council’s involvement activities for a range of housing and regeneration projects, ensuring residents are at the heart of Newham’s plans and have opportunities to give their views throughout each project.
