Salary Range: From £26,999 to £29,636 Per annum (depending on experience) + Non-Contractual Market Forces.
Hours: Full Time - 37 Hours per week

Hertfordshire County Council are offering an exciting opportunity to play a lead role in the expansion and development of children’s homes run by the County. Wanting the best for our children, we are developing our current in-house residential services to best meet the needs of our children. Following significant County Council investment, our new Residential Strategy seeks to bring children closer to families and the communities that they know, living in high quality provision designed around them. We are looking for Senior Care Workers who will be fully supported by hands on and committed Managers, great access to training and a support network including Health and Education colleagues.

We work within the well-established ARC (Attachment self-Regulation and Competency) model of trauma informed practice. ARC, pioneered by the Boston Trauma Centre, has been in place in Hertfordshire for 10 years. Hertfordshire is fully committed to training which fosters skills and expertise around therapeutically working with and supporting children who have experienced developmental trauma.
Our services are rated as Good and Outstanding with Ofsted and this is the standard we continually commit to deliver.
In this Senior position you will work in our homes, planning interventions, leading a team of Residential Child Care workers and offering children and young people a safe and nurturing environment. All staff are expected to take a full and active role in the young person and family life; planning, motivating and participating in supporting them to achieve.
To be considered you will have experience of working with children and young people, in a residential setting. You will undertake direct work with children and families with the most complex needs and supervise, monitor and evaluate ARC interventions and be competent in writing and presenting reports. A previous management and or supervisory role is desirable.
Ideally you will be trained to degree level or equivalent, however the one thing you must have is an absolute commitment to improving the lives of children, and never giving up. As a member of the team it is essential that you are able to work shifts, including sleep in’s, weekends and bank holidays. You must have full driving licence and on occasions need to use your own car for business, although you will have access to unit car whilst on shift.
