We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join Children's Services within Central Bedfordshire. The purpose of our Occupational therapy‘s Services is to have an Occupational Therapist workforce to undertake all statutory interventions in a specific service area, that enable children to live in a family & community environment that maximises their life chances. 

In Children Services, we want every Child and family in Central Bedfordshire to have a responsive, customer focused care and support - making this a great place to live and work. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you'll be at the heart in supporting vulnerable children to be safe, well and as independent as possible.

The Paediatric Occupational Therapy service is developing in Children's Services and this is a very exciting time to join the team and be part of the journey and implementation of this service. You will be working within Children's Services which is closely linked to social care teams who are locality based. Experience of change management would be an advantage.

As a Senior Therapist you will provide professional support, leadership and line management to qualified staff who form part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team.The Occupational Therapy Service is at the beginning of it’s journey in Children's Services and you will have the skills to develop and manage staff, processes and quality for the service. The team's role is to safeguard and promote the independence of children and their carers by assessing their needs, promoting enablement, providing equipment, support and home adaptations.

The service works in close partnership with health and care systems to promote the health and wellbeing of all Children within Central Bedfordshire. Multi agency working is at the heart of the Occupational Therapy service and its development. 

You will be required to have community experience, hold a degree or equivalent within Occupational Therapy and be HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist. You will be fluent in the English Language.
