Volunteer Youth Workers Wanted!
About the role
Do you or someone you know want a new challenge? Are you or they a person who would want the opportunity to join us at the start of our journey in developing, supporting and delivering high quality Youth and Community Work, in partnership with and alongside our local communities?
It would be an opportunity to share and develop existing skills, gain new skills, experience and knowledge, to undertake accredited training, and work directly with children and young people and the communities, within which they live to create sustainable informal safe learning environments, where Young People are able to explore, grow and develop into active and engaged members of their local community and wider society… and for everyone involved to have fun along the way!
Here at Surrey County Council (SCC) we have a number of volunteer roles across all 11 boroughs/ districts of the county and we are looking for adults who are passionate and want to make a difference to their own life and the lives of others.
We are seeking individuals with skills or a willingness to learn, that can support, develop or deliver settings or projects such as:
- Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award scheme
- Young Carers
- Community Youth Clubs
- Mental Health and Well being
- Young People in or at risk of being in the Criminal Justice system
- Victims of Sexual and/or Criminal Exploitation
- Forest Schools and Outdoor Learning
- Residential Experiences
- One to One & or Group Work around specific identified needs or issues.
We provide an induction to all volunteers, accredited training opportunities and an enhanced DBS check, each of these will be a requirement for undertaking a volunteer youth worker role with us at SCC.
