We’re looking for Risk Manager to join a great team
We pride ourselves in offering the best of London in oneborough. The list is long but includes Brick Lane, Victoria Park, Canary Wharf,Columbia Road market, Tower of London, V&A Museum of Childhood and WhitechapelArt Gallery.
We have one of the most multi-cultural and fastest growingpopulations in the country - set to rise to 341,000 by 2023. Our residents areour greatest asset, but we also have to address the growing cost of childrenand adult social care.
We’ve focused our efforts to save £190m since 2010, whilstcontinuing to safeguard our most vulnerable residents, invest in our schools, public health, community safety, build new council homes and help thousandsinto work.
Our net spending for 2020-21is £354.5m (not including millions more in grant spending for schools andhousing) and we still have the 7th lowest council tax rate in thecountry. We also know we’re likely to face further funding cuts, changes to howwe’re funded, alongside the huge demands due to the coronavirus pandemic.
We’re recognised by government as having amongst the mostrobust voter registration and election security processes in the country, andtake a proactive lead in tackling all forms of fraud.
In recent years the council has worked hard to establishstrong financial, corporate governance and reputational standards, and tomaximise the impact of every pound that we spend.
That’s why we’re looking for the right person to maintainthat focus on risk and reputation, and to reap their own rewards in joining usat such an exciting time.
Risk. Reputation. Reward.
