We are looking for a diligent and enthusiastic Employability Worker to work as part of a multi-agency team, where you will support parents of children under 5 to find the right job and training opportunities. You will work with partners and community organisations to encourage the use of employability services.
The role is an integral part of the Integrated Early Years Service's Employability Team based between Regensts Park Childrens Centre and 1a Children , where you’ll be responsible for offering one to one support and workshops to improve parents' confidence and pre-employment skills. This will include supporting parents with interview skills and practice, writing a CV or application forms and accessing work placement opportunities, in addition to this, you’ll also refer parents for advice on childcare and welfare benefits.
To be considered for this post it is essential that possess an NVQ level 3 in IAG or higher. You should be able to demonstrate experience of employability work, knowledge of welfare to work sector and of working within an early years setting and/or with parents. With exceptional communication skills, you’ll competently be able to promote the service internally and externally.
It is essential that you have a good understanding of our customers, their different communities and their different needs in order to fulfil the outcomes of this role, as is an understanding of the importance of accurate record keeping, both electronic and hard copy.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS
