Havering is the easternmost London borough, bordered by Essex to the North and East, the River Thames to the south and the boroughs of Redbridge and Barking & Dagenham to the west. The Housing Service department has been transformed to deliver a tenure neutral service with an emphasis on preventative and sustainment services to borough residents. This is supported by the implementation of a new I.T system to deliver a modern, efficient service that focuses on outcomes for residents.
The Community Engagement Team work in partnership with internal and external departments to promote the social, economic and environmental improvement of Havering in line with community priorities through effective development, promotion, co-ordination and management of projects and programmes in line with national, regional and local housing objectives.
We aim to actively engage with all communities/service users across the range of services that Housing Services provides and to help deliver the Community Engagement Strategy.
Havering have 3 Tenant Management Organisations (TMO) in the Borough.
Tenant Management Organisation Officer (18 hours per week, part time permanent).
Grade 5 £27,228 to £30,213 pro rata
To establish and maintain effective working relationships with TMO Managers and staff.
Monitor Performance of TMOs.
Work with colleagues to ensure a one team approach to the delivery of our services whilst meeting individual and team key performance indicators and targets.
To agree and monitor Modular Management Agreements (MMA) for each TMO.
Prepare written reports, deal with correspondence and maintain/update ICT records and files and attend meetings.
Monitor TMO finances and invoices.
To maintain knowledge of the current Community Engagement strategy and understanding of own contribution in order to ensure delivery of this strategy.
Have knowledge of Modular Management Agreements (MMA) and working with Tenant Management Organisations (TMOs)
You will demonstrate cost-consciousness and identify any cost effective changes to own way of working.
You will complete other reasonable tasks in order to fulfil role purpose or as instructed by management.
To be a confident, engaging communicator, able to positively handle contact with clients from a range of backgrounds.
Have the ability to build and maintain a good understanding of wider council and department objectives, services and initiatives and an understanding of how these interface with delivery of housing needs services.
Experience working in a front facing team.
Have relevant experience of working in a resident involvement capacity and experience of delivering high levels of customer care and of working on their own initiative for the benefit of the community.
Experience is desired for delivering projects from inception to completion including development, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and review.
