Welcome to the Integrated Adolescent Safeguarding Support Service (IASS).
We provide support that improves outcomes for children and young people between 10 and 18 years old, and up to 25 for young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
We are committed to seeing life through the eyes of young people in Havering. We promote positive language and attitudes toward young people, their networks and communities. Coproduction is at the heart of our work, and young people’s voices are at the centre of the design and delivery of our service.
Our core aim is to safeguard children and young people who may be at risk of harm outside of family and home. In recent years, we have seen an increase in the exploitation of children and young people in Havering. We use techniques like information sharing between agencies and data analysis to identify those young people who may be at risk of exploitation. We then work with young people to protect them from harm and improve their life chances.
Our integrated service is multi-disciplinary, and made up of a dedicated team of professionals from:
- Adolescent safeguarding team
- Youth justice service
- Youth Influence and Participation Service
- Virtual school
- Child Exploitation / Missing coordination, working across this team and Social Care
- Clinical health posts
- Data analysis to enable earlier identification of children vulnerable to criminal exploitation
Our preventative approach to support and intervention with young people is informed by our understanding of:
- The impact of trauma and adverse childhood experiences
- Young people’s experiences of risk in places and people outside of family, home and school
•The power of language and relationship-based practice
Team Manager (Adolescent Safeguarding Team )
Grade 10- £49,464 to £53,544 ( plus Market Suppment of £4,000)
The Team Manager for Integrated Adolescent Safeguarding Services will implement the strategic plan for the service in relation to adolescent safeguarding. This will be will in a multi-disciplinary matrix management style.
In line with national legislation the Team Manager will deliver a high quality fully integrated service to children, young people and their families.
The team manager will provide direct oversight on highly complex cases this will include being responsible for leading on allegations against professionals, missing children.
The Team Manager will be accountable for financial decision making of the team budget limits. The Team Manager will commission services to ensure that the service provision meets the needs of the service delivery.
The Team Manager will lead and be responsible for assigned projects across the Integrated Adolescent Safeguarding Services. Team Manager will deputise for the Group Manager/Team managers across the service.
The Team Manager is responsible for HR management and will allocate resource for the service, which includes responsibility for on doing development of the service and performance management.
The Team Manager will be able to Support Face to Face working in line with Havering Children’s Services models and guide collaborative partnership working with multi-agencies.
The Team Manager will lead and manage the planning of the service to ensure best outcomes for children and young people at risk of criminal exploitation and for the prevention of future harm and abuse.
Responsibility for ensuring that all safeguarding referrals are dealt with in a timely and effective manner working collaboratively, sharing information across a multi-agency discipline. This includes using statutory interventions within the criminal justice and social care frameworks as appropriate.
You will be an experiences manager and hold a current Social Work qualification as recognised by the HCPC.
Your knowledge on children’s and young people’s legislation will be up to date and current. You will be able to evidence that you have substantial experience of working with frontline child protection at a senior level.
You will be experienced in working in a multi-disciplinary collaborative team.
You will be able to develop and support a team of high performing staff.
You will have successfully managed a team budget, demonstrating value for money.
