Welcome to the Integrated Adolescent Safeguarding Support Service (IASS).
We provide support that improves outcomes for children and young people between 10 and 18 years old, and up to 25 for young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
We are committed to seeing life through the eyes of young people in Havering. We promote positive language and attitudes toward young people, their networks and communities. Coproduction is at the heart of our work, and young people’s voices are at the centre of the design and delivery of our service.
Our core aim is to safeguard children and young people who may be at risk of harm outside of family and home. In recent years, we have seen an increase in the exploitation of children and young people in Havering. We use techniques like information sharing between agencies and data analysis to identify those young people who may be at risk of exploitation. We then work with young people to protect them from harm and improve their life chances.
Our integrated service is multi-disciplinary, and made up of a dedicated team of professionals from:
- Adolescent safeguarding team
- Youth justice service
- Youth Influence and Participation Service
- Virtual school
- Child Exploitation / Missing coordination, working across this team and Social Care
- Clinical health posts
- Data analysis to enable earlier identification of children vulnerable to criminal exploitation
Our preventative approach to support and intervention with young people is informed by our understanding of:
- The impact of trauma and adverse childhood experiences
- Young people’s experiences of risk in places and people outside of family, home and school
•The power of language and relationship-based practice.
Group Manager -Integrated Adolescent Safeguarding Service
Grade 11 -£55,638 to £61,929 plus £3,500 Market Supplement
As the Group Manager you will provide leadership to the services within the Integrated Adolescent Safeguarding Support Services. Using your influencing skills you will direct staff and energise them towards the goals of the service.
The Group Manager will support the Head of Integrated Adolescent Safeguarding Support Service in the development of the service by reviewing and planning performance, governance and the commissioning of service.
The Group Manager will strategically plan to ensure the service to the Children and families of Havering receive high quality service provision in keeping with professional standards of good practice, legislation, regulations and guidance. To be responsible for children with a child protection plan and for decision making about their safety and welfare. This will include children and families who are at risk from criminal exploitation The Group Manager will robustly evaluate and recommend actions where necessary to improve the service delivery.
The Group Manager will be experienced in working collaboratively within a in partnership of multi agencies.
The Group Manager will implement the face to face way of working within the service and across the partnership working.
The Group Manager will be financially accountable for the agreed budget for
Integrated Adolescent Safeguarding Support Services. Planning resource for best value for money.
The Group Manager will lead and embed projects within the Integrated Adolescent Safeguarding Support Services.
You will be an experienced manager of children and family services. You would have worked effectively with in a multi-disciplinary team.
Your knowledge of all relevant legistrations will be current and you will have a full understanding of issues facing parents and children, particularly hard to reach groups
You will a proven record in shaping and planning service delivery to ensure the best possible outcomes for children, young people and families. You will be able to adapt quickly to a rapidly changing environment. You will be able to proprieties workload and work to identified timescales.
You will be able to analyse statistical data that will support the development of the Integrated Adolescent Safeguarding Support Services.
You will have experience in priding effective leadership and be able to motivate the team. You will be key in implementing change for the Integrated Adolescent Safeguarding Support Services.
You will be experienced in resource management and be able to manage a budget to provide value for money.
You will be able to provide evidence of completing recognised management training. You will have completed the foundation level systemic practice training and systemic practice supervision training.
