We are looking for an enthusiastic qualified Social Worker, who as a minimum has completed their ‘Assessed and Supported Employment in Social Work’ (ASYE) and has at least two years post qualifying experience.

You will need to commit to working in a busy team and provide high quality assessments and interventions to children with a range of disabilities, including learning and physical. Being a successful Social Worker in the Disabled Children’s Team involves developing and maintaining good quality professional relationships with children, their families and other agencies and contributing to a busy and developing service.

You need to be flexible and self-disciplined and will undertake the full range of children’s social work including Child in Need, Looked After Children, Child Protection and court work.

The Disabled Children’s Team sits within Education and is part of the SEN and Learning Support Team. The Disabled Children’s Team is made up of Social Workers; Occupational Therapists; Family Support Worker’s and Business Support.

This role requires the incumbent to have a car available at work to undertake his/her duties as they will be expected to undertake at least 1500 business miles per year. Essential Car User status attracts a lump sum allowance paid on a monthly basis as well as a free car parking space if he/she works at one of the Council’s corporate buildings.
