 Crossens Nursery School

Headteacher

Group 1 range L8-L16 (£49,048-£59,528)

Following the announcement of the retirement of our current Headteacher we are looking for a leader who can continue to inspire, motivate and lead the school and identify, develop and implement any changes that may be needed to achieve our vision and ambition.

Crossens Nursery School is one of three maintained nursery schools in Sefton. Keen to play our part in the wider education system, the school plays an active part in Early Years Improvement activity in and beyond Sefton.

Our vision is one of Confident Children, Lifelong Learners and success at the Heart of the Community

Our Mission Statement is that:

We think that every child is born with the natural instinct to learn and explore and should be given opportunities to reach their full potential. We achieve this through the delivery of high quality education and the development of effective partnerships.

Our aspiration is that:

  • Each child is valued as an individual with tremendous potential for learning
  • Each child is listened to and their needs and interests identified
  • Children feel happy and secure in our positive, nurturing environment
  • Each child develops confidence and resilience in their Learning Journey supporting them to become successful lifelong learners
  • We deliver the best possible outcomes for each child through effective partnerships with parents
  • Our school plays a key role within the Early Education landscape.

Our Values set out the expectations we have of our children and staff:

Respect - for ourselves, for one another, in our school and in the wider community

Honesty and Consideration

Equality – across race, culture, gender, religion, language and special educational needs or disability

Lifelong Learning and Development

Co-operation – one team - collaborating seamlessly with parents, other professionals, schools and other nurseries or childcare establishments

Resilience, Quality and Standards – we have the highest expectations of ourselves and our partners as well as the children

Responsive and reflective – we seek the views of children and families to ensure that the services we offer meet the needs of children and families

Wellbeing – we prioritise the health, safety and well-being of children families and staff

Helping us further embed our vision and values as something that are seen, experienced and felt by all involved in the school is a key part of what we want you to come and help us achieve.

We face the same challenges as most schools in the current climate, nevertheless, in recent years we have taken action to secure the position of the school such delivering school improvement activity in collaboration with the local authority school improvement services.

What do we see as our next steps?

We want to ensure the long term future of the school and to continue to provide our children with high quality provision where teaching and learning is inspirational and enables children to make an outstanding start on their path to life-long learning.

We want to build on the current reputation of the school creating an environment where all school staff feel able to develop to excellence and are open to this challenge and within which the school can have a positive impact on the wider education landscape.

This is a great time to join a school with strong foundations. It has benefited from a strong and committed governing board and committed staff team. The post offers considerable, exciting opportunities for you to make a significant impact as our new Headteacher to help us achieve our vision and ambition for our children, staff and the wider school community.
